Panama is home to five primate species: the mantled howler, white-faced capuchin, Geoffroy’s tamarin, Central American spider monkey, and Panamanian night monkey. It also has two additional species, that within the scientific community there is some debate as to whether they are a species of their own or a sub species of two of the previously stated primates. These are the black headed spider monkey and the Coiba island monkey.

On this tour you will have the opportunity to observe two of these species in their natural habitat, the mantled howler monkey and the white faced capuchin, without unethical feeding or handling of the animals. These unethical practices can lead to long term negative effects, including causing them to become dependent and habituated to humans, endangering them to be more easily captured by poachers for the illegal pet industry and other human conflicts.

On top of the two species of primates and various other species of birds and wildlife that inhabit the area you will also have the chance to view two species of toucans, the keel billed toucan and the fiery billed aracari toucan, both of which have a healthy breeding population in the area.
